Biography

Kristy Ironside is Associate Professor of Russian History and William Dawson Scholar at McGill University. She is the author of A Full-Value Ruble: The Promise of Prosperity in the Postwar Soviet Union (Harvard, 2021), which was the 2022 co-winner of the W. Bruce Lincoln Prize from the Association for Slavic, East European, and Eurasian Studies. She is currently working on three book projects: a monograph on the Soviet Union’s international copyright relations, a microhistory of the life and work of the Soviet Union’s official photographic, literary, and musical agent in America during Stalinism, and a book charting late Soviet and post-Soviet Russia’s economic transformation through the McDonald’s fast-food chain’s entry and exit from its market.
