Adam Rodger

Adam is from Marysville, Ohio, just north of Columbus. He earned his Bachelor's in History from Brigham Young University, where he focused on Russian and Soviet history. He went to Miami University for his Masters, where he studied the history of professional criminal communities in the Soviet Gulag. At KU for his PhD, Adam studies the Spanish Civil War as a continuation of the Russian Civil War in the eyes of tsarist officers, Soviet volunteers, Trotskyists, and anarchists who engaged with, and often participated in, both wars. His interests include the history of civil wars, revolutions, military and society, empire, diaspora, and both right and left political extremism.
